I bought this cookbook for $1.00! I yet have cooked anything from it, but I might someday! Speaking of someday, I want to go to France! Oh, the pictures I could take! I did get to go to a French camp my freshmen year in High School. It was in Minnesota, LOL! Have a Fabulous Friday!

My niece Tia turned me onto cucumber water! Myah and I were outside and she says, "Can I have some of your water?" Sure, I said! "Why are pickles in your water? she asked. "Um, they are cucumbers." I answered. She said, " Will you get me some water with no PICKLES?!"

Grand-Tante GiGi

This precious baby is Jai'Vier Nelson, my GREAT nephew! I am now a Great Aunt, WOW! My sister Tammy started calling me Aunt Gigi years ago, not sure why, but I love it! I did take four years of French in High School and my name was Gigi, lol! I am so proud of Paige my niece, he is so lovely!

I didn't have a chance to blog yesterday! I left my house at 7:30am and returned about 7:30pm! It was switch day at Kyle's High School ( I will blog on that experience later) and then Cloe had a Parent's Viewing for her upcoming Dance Recital! So, I took lots of pictures yesterday!

Ready for Rhubarb

Love Rhubarb, every spring I pick rhubarb from my mom's garden and make a pie, yum!

Perfect Rhubarb Pie

4 cups fresh rhubarb, sliced
4 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon quick cooking tapioca
1 egg
2 teaspoons cold water
pastry for double crust pie (9")
1 tablespoon butter, place rhubarb in a colander and pour water over it; set aside.
In a bowl, combine sugar, flour and tapioca; mix well.
Drain rhubarb; add to sugar mixture and toss to coat. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Beat egg and water; add to rhubarb mixture and mix well.
Line a 9-inch pie plate with bottom pastry. Add filling. Dot with butter. Cover with remaining pastry; flute edges. Cut slits in top crust.
Bake at 400ºF for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350ºF; bake 40-50 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.

Kyle landed on his hand with his spikes at his track meet last night! He got four stitches! He has had to get staples when he was younger, but not stitches, so I had to document this with pictures and a blog post, LOL. Love ya Kyle!
