Thirsty for Thursday!
Hold the Pickles Please! My niece Tia turned me onto cucumber water! Myah and I were outside and she says, "Can I have some of your water?" Sure, I said! "Why are pickles in your water? she asked. "Um, they are cucumbers." I answered. She said, " Will you get me some water with no PICKLES?!"

I didn't have a chance to blog yesterday! I left my house at 7:30am and returned about 7:30pm! It was switch day at Kyle's High School ( I will blog on that experience later) and then Cloe had a Parent's Viewing for her upcoming Dance Recital! So, I took lots of pictures yesterday!
Hope you enjoy the BEAUTIFUL Magnolia Tree!

A Tree (and Bird) A Day for Earth Day"
Anyone that knows me well thinks I hate birds! It is not that hate birds, it is that they make me nervous when they get TOO CLOSE! I love to hear them chirp, and I wish them no harm, I like to take pictures of them, AT A DISTANCE!Monday, April 19, 2010
"you say tomato, I say tomahto"

It's a song by George and Ira Gershwin, from 1937. "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off."
(verse)Things have come to a pretty pass,Our romance is growing flat,For you like this and the other While I go for this and that.Goodness knows what the end will be;Oh, I don't know where I'm at...It looks as if we two will never be one,Something must be done.
(refrain)You say eether and I say eyether,You say neether and I say nyther;Eether, eyether, neether, nyther,Let's call the whole thing off!You like potato and I like potahto,You like tomato and I like tomahto;Potato, potahto, tomato, tomahto!Let's call the whole thing off!But oh! If we call the whole thing off,Then we must part. And oh! If we ever part,Then that might break my heart! So, if you like pajamas and I like pajahmas,I'll wear pajamas and give up pajahmas. For we know we need each other,So we better call the calling off off.Let's call the whole thing off!

A Tree a Day for Earth Day!

I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree.A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;A tree that looks at God all day And lifts her leafy arms to pray;A tree that may in Summer wear A nest of robins in her hair;Upon whose bosom snow has lain;Who intimately lives with rain.Poems are made by fools like me,But only God can make a tree.~Joyce Kilmer, "Trees," 1914

Clouds in my coffee, and

You probably think this BLOG is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this BLOG is about you
Don't you? Don't you?"

Ready for Rhubarb
Love Rhubarb, every spring I pick rhubarb from my mom's garden and make a pie, yum!Perfect Rhubarb Pie

3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon quick cooking tapioca
1 egg
2 teaspoons cold water
pastry for double crust pie (9")
1 tablespoon butter, place rhubarb in a colander and pour water over it; set aside.
In a bowl, combine sugar, flour and tapioca; mix well.
Drain rhubarb; add to sugar mixture and toss to coat. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Beat egg and water; add to rhubarb mixture and mix well.
Line a 9-inch pie plate with bottom pastry. Add filling. Dot with butter. Cover with remaining pastry; flute edges. Cut slits in top crust.
Bake at 400ÂşF for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350ÂşF; bake 40-50 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
